About the founder

Lupie Girl Outreach group was formed in 2023 by Shareeta Jo, a Lupus survivor. Shareeta Jo was diagnosed with Lupus S.L.E, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Aortic stenosis in 2012. After being hospitalized nine times between 2014-2015 from a series of flare-ups, which included excruciating pain, excessive hair loss, memory loss and losing more than 50 lbs, her self-esteem was diminished. She watched her appearance change, her body cripple, and as of today, she lives with two blood clots lodged in her lungs.  Shareeta Jo decided to do something.

Like many others, she did not know what Lupus was. Feeling alone and scared she decided to form a community of friends that suffers from Lupus by writing a theatrical stage production entitled "This is what Lupus looks like". She wanted to bring awareness. So, they told their stories, shared their experiences, and inspired each other.

Shareeta Jo created a safe place for survivors. She learned through spirituality, education, self-care, and a proper diet, she could manage the disease and live a full and healthy life. As a survivor, she understands the fear, pain, and frustration that come along with Lupus. Her message to all survivors is, you are not alone. I will provide you with the essential tools that will help you live a full, and healthy life while living with Lupus. Light and Love
